The Chicago Police Department is the police department servicing the jurisdiction of Chicago, Illinois. It was established in the year 1835.
In the the Child's Play film series, Mike Norris was a homicide detective for the Chicago Police Department, based out of Chicago, Illinois. In November, 1988 Mike was on the trail of wanted serial killer Charles Lee Ray. Norris pursued Ray into a toy store where he fatally shot him. Before expiring however, Ray used a mystical incantation to transfer his spirit from his dying body into that of a Good Guy doll. His evil continued in the form of the animated doll, "Chucky", and Mike found himself facing a new threat unlike anything he had seen before. [1]
In Marvel Comics continuity, Bill Nelson was a rookie police officer officer for the Chicago PD. While off-duty, he was walking down the street with his wife, Greer Grant Nelson, when they took note of a drugstore robbery in progress. Bill drew his sidearm as the thief exited the building, but the robber fired first, and Bill was killed. [2]
