Cheetara's staff is a fictional weapon featured in the ThunderCats multimedia franchise. It first appeared in the original ThunderCats, which ran in syndication from 1985 to 1989. The weapon is attributed to the Thunderan known as Cheetara.
Description[]
The Thunderan known as Cheetara employs a bo staff as her preferred weapon of choice. The weapon remains inert when not in use, and is fitted in a special housing on a gauntlet on Cheetara's left arm. In its normal physical state it is the length of a baton, but Cheetara can extend both ends of the staff to a full length of more than two meters for normal combat functions. The staff's mystical properties extend beyond even that however. Through an act of will, Cheetara can adjust the size of the staff to whatever length she desires as needed, such as for pole vaulting. The staff can also generate a cross-pommel, which can be used for a variety of effects as well.
History[]
After being freed from Mumm-Ra's mind control, Cheetara and the other ThunderCats tracked the villain into the forest where he was engaged in battle with Lion-O. She threw the staff at him, tripping him, and sending sprawling to the ground, whereupon Wilykit and Wilykat pinned him. [1]
