Isis[]
Charlie is a minor character featured on the Saturday morning superhero/action series The Secrets of Isis. He was played by actor Barry Miller and appeared in the second episode of season two, "The Hitchhikers". Charlie was a teenage boy from Larkspur, California in the 1970s and was friends with another boy named Steve. Charlie picked up two girls who were hitchhiking named Hope and Joann. Charlie was reckless and went speeding down the highway in his car. He was pulled over by a police officer, but tore up the speeding ticket that he gave him. Continuing to speed through the canyon, he was unaware of a broken down truck in the middle of the road and nearly crashed into it. Isis, flying overhead, turned his car intangible, allowing it to pass through the wreckage, but then he steered it off of a cliff. Isis used telekinesis to bring the vehicle to safety. Charlie later picked up Hope again and went joy-riding. His car broke down in the middle of the train tracks just as a train was coming. Isis flew down and called upon a bolt of lightning to jump-start Charlie's car so he could move it to safety.
Marvel Universe[]
Werewolf by Night[]
Charlie was a truck driver who had stopped at a motel called the Lame Duck Inn in the San Fernando Valley. Along with another driver named Mac, he had noticed somebody skulking about their rigs in the parking lot. The two men alerted the staff inside, not realizing that the being they had spotted was actually Jack Russell - a werewolf! This "Roughhouse Gang" of truck drivers went out into the parking lot and accosted the werewolf, who slashed at a man named Howie "knocking him silly". When the others realized that they were fighting up against a werewolf, they dropped their rudimentary weaponry and fled. (Werewolf by Night 6)
Watchmen[]
"Charlie" was the name attributed to the biological father of Walter Kovacs, who later became the costumed vigilante known as Rorschach. Walter's mother was Sylvia Kovacs, who became involved with Charlie sometime following her divorce from Peter Joseph Kovacs. Sylvia lived in New York City at the time and was working as a prostitute. It is unclear whether Charlie was one of her clients or simply a male companion. Charlie was known to be a fan of President Harry Truman, but Sylvia and he had a political dispute, which resulted in Charlie abandoning her two months before she gave birth to Walter. Although Walter never met Charlie, he later wrote in his journal that his father was a "decent" man.
