Professor Charles Xavier is a fictional mutant scholar and one of the main characters featured in the X-Men film series. He first appeared in the original Bryan Singer trilogy in 2000 beginning with X-Men. This version of the character was played by actor Patrick Stewart. The Stewart iteration of Xavier also appeared in the film's direct sequels, X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand, as well as making cameo appearances in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine. A future timeline chronicled the final Xavier story in Logan in 2017. An alternate timeline, which crossed over with the original timeline, presented a younger version of Xavier who was played by James McAvoy. This version of Charles appeared in X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past (which also featured Patrick Stewart), and X-Men: Apocalypse.
