Chandilar is a fictional planet featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is the throneworld of the extraterrestrial race known as the Shi'ar and the governing seat of the Shi'ar Empire. It has also been referred to as the Aerie. Chandilar is located in galaxy M-31, which is conterminous with the Andromeda Galaxy. [1]
The native people of Chandilar are descended from a race that bore both avian and mammalian physical characteristics. Throughout the evolutionary life cycle, most of the Shi'ar's avian traits have disappeared, though there are still genetic throwbacks to their ancient heritage such as Deathbird, who was born with both wings and talons.
The noble Neramani family were all born on Chandilar, which includes the oldest sibling Cal'syee Neramani, her sister Lilandra Neramani and her brother D'Ken Neramani. All three of them have held the title of Majestrix to the Shi'ar Empire at some point in their lives.

- There is some speculation as to whether the Aerie is a separate planet from Chandilar or perhaps it is just a region of the planet like a continent or country. Marvel Comics has never provided a definitive answer to this.
