Cerebra is a fictional item featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It first appeared in New X-Men #114 in July, 2001. Cerebra is a mutant detection system developed by Hank McCoy. It is basically the proverbial "big sister" to Cerebro and can amplify a telepath's reception capabilities 100 fold. Charles Xavier used it to located newly evolved mutants as did Jean Grey.
