Steven Lisberger is a film and television director, writer, and producer. He was born in New York City, New York on April 24th, 1951. Steven is best known as the creator of the Tron franchise, which first came to life via Walt Disney Productions as a feature film in 1982. Steven was both the writer and director of the movie. Although he did not direct any of the film's sequels or spin-off media, he has been credited in both the Tron: Legacy film in 2010 as well as the Tron: Uprising TV series. He was a producer on Tron: Legacy and even played a role in the film as Shaddix. In 1989, Steven also directed the low-budget sci-fi film Slipstream starring Mark Hamill.
