Roger Barton is a film editor. His first professional work was on the 1997 remake of That Darn Cat. From 2000 to 2005, his film credits included Gone in Sixty Seconds, Pearl Harbor, Ghost Ship, Bad Boys II and The Amityville Horror. Having several "high octane" action films under his belt, it is no surprise that George Lucas hired him to take on the editing chores on the third installment of the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He collaborated with longtime Star Wars editor and sound engineer Ben Burtt.
Following Star Wars, Roger Barton worked on 2005's Get Rich or Die Tryin' and the 2006 fantasy film Eragon. In 2008, Barton took on the editing chores on the live-action feature film version of the classic 1960s animated series Speed Racer. He co-edited the film with Zach Staenberg.
In 2009, Barton reunited with Bad Boys director Michael Bay for yet another live-action treatment to a classic animated franchise - The Transformers. Barton performed the editing work on the second film in the series, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as well as 2011's Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon. On Revenge of the Fallen, Barton worked with a team of editors which included Thomas A. Muldoon, Joel Negron and Paul Rubell. On Dark Side of the Moon, he worked alongside William Goldenberg and again with Joel Negron. In between the two films, he worked on the Joe Carnahan feature film adaptation of The A-Team.
