Rodney Sturt Taylor is an Australian film and television actor born in Sydney, New South Wales on January 11th, 1930. He has appeared in dozens of films and several TV programs with the majority of his most well-known work being released in the 1960s and 70s.

Career[]

In the science fiction genre, Rod made his debut with the 1956 film World Without End where he played a character named Herbert Ellis. In 1959 Rod played Lieutenant Colonel Clegg Forbes in the "And When the Sky Was Opened" episode of Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone. In 1960 he played a fictionalized version of English author H.G. Wells in the George Pal adaptation of Wells' classic novel, The Time Machine. Arguably, this is Taylor's most well-known work. He played Paul Duveen in "The Hitch-Hiker" episode of the anthology series Tales of the Unexepected and in 1998 he played General Sorenson in the television movie The Warlord: Battle for the Galaxy.
