Mary Jo Duffy is a comic book writer and editor born in New York City, New York on February 9th, 1954. She is best known for her work at Marvel Comics, writing several 1970s-era sci-fi titles such as Star Wars and John Carter, Warlord of Mars. Her first sci-fi work was issue #24 of the original Star Wars comic book series. She became the regular series writer on the title beginning with issue #70. In total, she scripted 33 issues of the series. Mary Jo Duffy also edited the "Amazons of Mars" story from John Carter, Warlord of Mars Annual #3.
