Martin Wood is a television director who has contributed his talents to several different programs within the science fiction genre. His first sci-fi work was the 1999 action film Teenage Space Vampires, which he also wrote. His first television sci-fi work was the "The Three Phases of Claire" episode of The Invisible Man. He then directed four episodes of Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict. Martin followed this up with directing five episodes of another posthumous Roddenberry series, Andromeda. His largest project was for the 1997-2007 series Stargate SG-1. Martin directed a total of 47 episodes of the series, more than any other director who worked on the program. He was a co-producer on 22 episodes between 2003 and 2004, a first and second unit director on 16 episodes of the show between 1997 and 1998 and a creative consultant on 22 episodes between 2002 and 2003. Martin also appeared four episodes of the series as various background characters. He played a rocket technician in "Red Sky". He was a firefighter in "The Changeling". He was a man in an elevator in "Fallen" and he was the director of the fictional Wormhole X-Treme series in "200". Martin Wood also served as a supervising producer on the spinoff series Stargate Atlantis. He was a supervising producer on 60 episodes and a co-producer on 19 episodes. Martin also directed the 2008 direct-to-video film Stargate: Continuum. Beginning in 2007, Martin began working on the sci-fi series Sanctuary starring Stargate SG-1 actress Amanda Tapping. He directed all seven installments of the TV miniseries and 23 episodes of the regular series, which began in 2008. Martin Wood was also credited as executive producer on the show.
