Frank Kent Smith was an American film and television actor. He was born in New York City, New York on April 23rd, 1907. Kent's early television work included multiple episodes of TV shows such as The Philco-Goodyear Television Playhouse, NBC Television Opera Theatre, Lights Out and Studio One in Hollywood.

Kent's first work in the speculative fiction genre was playing Professor Alex Bondar in "The Unexplored" episode of Science Fiction Theatre.

Kent's next work in the science fiction genre was on the 1960s anthology series The Outer Limits, in which he appeared in two episodes. He played Doctor Bloch in "It Crawled Out of the Woodwork" in 1963 and Aabel in "The Children of Spider County" in 1964. In 1968, Kent had a recurring role on the Quinn Martin sci-fi series The Invaders. He played Edgar Scoville - a wealthy benefactor to Roy Thinnes' David Vincent - the protagonist from the series. Kent appeared in thirteen episodes from season two of the series. In 1977, Kent played Chief Justice Brown in the "I Do, I Do" episode of the superhero fantasy series Wonder Woman. This was Kent's final work in television.

Kent Smith passed away in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles County, California on April 23rd, 1985 at the age of 78.
