Gil Kane, born Eli Katz, was a comic book illustrator born in Riga, Latvia on April 6th, 1926. He is best known for his work during the 1960s illustrating issues of Green Lantern and The Atom for DC Comics. In sci-fi circles, Kane has contributed his talents to titles such as Adventures on the Planet of the Apes, Star Trek and Star Wars for Marvel Comics. Kane passed away on January 31st, 2000 in Miami, Florida.
