Boyd Kirkland was an animation storyboard artist and character designer born on November 4th, 1950. He was active from the late 1970s until his death in 2011. During the 1980s, Boyd worked as a layout unit supervisor for XAM! Productions. Some of his more notable projects include Thundarr the Barbarian, the 1981 Spider-Man animated series, the 1982 Incredible Hulk animated series, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Mister T and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. On these productions, Boyd worked as a layout artist. From 1992 to 1995, Boyd Kirkland worked as a timing director on Batman: The Animated Series.

Boyd Kirkland passes away on January 27th, 2011 at the age of 60. His final television work was directing the "Operation Galactic Storm" episode of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
