Alonso Oyarzun is a Canadian television actor born in Montreal on April 17th, 1976. Alonso's first professional television work was in the sci-fi genre when he played the leader of a punk gang in the "Bane" episode of Stargate SG-1. After this, Oyarzun appeared in a string of bit roles in various programs, eventually appearing in another sci-fi piece, Jeremiah, where he played a character named Gabriel Jarvis in season one episode "Thieves' Honor". In 2002, he appeared in the Taken television series as Lieutenant Keel in "Dropping the Dishes" and "John". In 2003, Alonso had an uncredited role as a security police man in the film The Core. Also in 2003, he played a character named Hall in the "Whiskey - Tango - Foxtrot" episode of Jake 2.0. Beginning in 2003, Oyarzun had a recurring role on the relaunch of the Battlestar Galactica television series playing a specialist named D. Socinus. He appeared in the two-part miniseries and eight episodes of the regular series between seasons one and two. Between episodes of Battlestar Galactica, Alonso also took time to play a character named Enrique on the Grains of Sand" episode of Stephen King's Dead Zone.
