Carter Slade is a fictional western hero featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. In addition to his association with western themed titles, he has also been tied to the greater Ghost Rider mythos. He first appeared in Ghost Rider #1 in February, 1967. A version of Carter Slade appeared in the 2007 feature film Ghost Rider and was played by actor Sam Elliott.
