- Borgo Pass
- The Borgo Pass is a region that passes through the Carpathian Mountains in Southeast Europe. It runs through the country of Romania including the territory known as Transylvania. In film fiction, the Borgo Pass is most often identified with the story of Dracula, which was first brought to life in 1897 by Irish author Bram Stoker. The Borgo Pass is presented as a mountainous path that leads directly to Castle Dracula. It is first seen in the 1931 film adaptation of Stoker's novel, Dracula, by Universal Pictures. In the scene, a young woman reads a travel guide describing the Borgo Pass. The Borgo Pass was also seen in Francis Ford Coppola's 1992 feature film adaptation of Dracula. As with the Universal Pictures movie, the character of Jonathan Harker, takes a carriage that brings him to the front gates of Castle Dracula.
