Carl Denham was a fictional filmmaker and one of three central characters from the King Kong film franchise. He was originally played by actor Robert Armstrong and appeared in the 1933 film King Kong. Armstrong reprised the role for the sequel film, Son of Kong, released that same year and was the only character to appear in both films. In Peter Jackson's 2005 remake of King Kong, the role of Carl Denham was played by comedic actor Jack Black.
