  • The tagline to this issue is "Introducing: Nitro - the Man who killed Captain Marvel!"
  • Rachel Dandridge makes reference to famous Motown crooners Ike Turner and Tina Turner in this issue.
  • Nitro appears to suffer from Kyphosis, or "Hunchback" syndrome in this issue. One of the Air Force base MPs even refers to him as a hunchback. This detail is ignored or forgotten in later appearances.
  • This is a key issue, as Mar-Vell is exposed to the Compound 13 nerve gas, which will eventually give him cancer and result in his death.
  • Rick Jones and Lou-Ann Savannah break up in this issue.
