Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Captain America was created by writer Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby. He was introduced in the pages of Captain America Comics #1, published by Timely Comics in March, 1941.
- In its original conception, the versions of Captain America and Bucky that appear in this issue are intended to be Steve Rogers and James Buchanan Barnes. However, the Marvel Comics timeline has since established that Rogers and Barnes disappeared in April, 1945. What If? #4 retroactively attributes the post-1945 appearances of Captain America and Bucky to Jeff Mace and Fred Davis.
- This issue shipped to retailers on March 1st, 1948.
- This is the first appearance of Betsy Ross as Golden Girl.
