- The character of Captain America was created by writer Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby. He was introduced in the pages of Captain America Comics #1, published by Timely Comics in March, 1941.
- The character of The Falcon was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Gene Colan. He first appeared in "The Coming of... The Falcon!" story from Captain America #117 in September, 1969.
- This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority.
- This issue is reprinted in the Marvel Masterworks: Captain America, Volume 8, which was published in April, 2003.
- This is the first appearance of Deadly Nightshade, whose real name is Tilda Johnson. She appears next in Captain America #189.
