Capitol City is a fictional city featured in comic books published by All-American Publications, and later, DC Comics. It is considered part of the Golden Age era of DC Comics publishing, which has been retroactively attributed to the Earth-Two reality. Capitol City was primarily featured in All-American Comics, All-Star Comics and Green Lantern, Volume 1.
History[]
Capitol City is located in the American Midwest and is the original base of operations for Alan Scott - the Golden Age Green Lantern. Alan functioned out of Capitol City for only a short period of time before establishing his permanent base of operations in Metropolis, and later, Gotham City.
One of the more notable points of interest in Capitol City was the Apex Broadcasting Company. The Apex Broadcasting Company was one of the largest media centers that dominated the United States during the 1940s. Alan Scott worked for Apex as one of it's chief design architects and eventually became president of the company. Apex maintained corporate offices across the U.S. including Capitol City and Gotham City.

Notes & Trivia[]
This version of Capitol City, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the Multiverse in the 1985-86 Crisis on Infinite Earths limited series and is now considered apocryphal.
Like many of the fictional locations featured in DC Comics titles, the exact location of Capitol City is left deliberately ambiguous. It fits into the mold of the "Anytown, USA" archetype and is located somewhere in the American Midwest, though which state it is located in remains unknown.
