Caesar is a fictional evolved ape and a major protagonist featured in the Planet of the Apes multimedia franchise. He has appeared in both the original Arthur P. Jacobs film series, as well as the Chernin Entertainment reboot series. In the original series, Caesar was played by actor Roddy McDowall. In the remake series, he was played by Andy Serkis, and brought to virtual life using motion capture technology.
