The Ant-Hill is a fictional headquarters featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is associated with the Doom Patrol line of comic titles and made a single appearance in Doom Patrol #99 in November, 1965.

Description[]

The Ant-Hill was the name attributed to a steel reinforced compound located in a desert valley some distance outside of Midway City. It was run by criminal inventor known as the Bug Man. The compound included a laboratory facility where the Bug Man would construct giant robots based on the appearance and abilities of various insects. The compound also included a dungeon area as well as several traps, such as trap doors.

Because the Bug Man was an evil nutter, he got it in his head to capture and kill members of the Doom Patrol. First, he sent a bunch of his robot bugs to Doom Patrol headquarters to attack them. After fending off the pesky robots, the Doom Patrol brought the fight to the Ant-Hill. The Bug Man captured Elasti-Girl and placed her within a shrinking cube. The Chief came along on the mission in his Action Chair and used a special claw appendage in the chair to avoid falling through one of the Bug Man's trap doors. While Robotman fought off more robot insects, Elasti-Girl managed to escape and apprehended Bug Man. After they brought hims outside, Larry Trainor had Neg-Man destroy the facility.

Notes[]

  • The exact location of the Ant-Hill was never disclosed save for that it existed outside the city from where the Doom Patrol maintained their headquarters. The DC Atlas establishes that the Doom Patrol operated out of Midway City, which is located in Michigan.
