"Freefall (Part 1)" is the title to the first issue of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Nine comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics. The series is based on the popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series, which aired on the WB Network for five seasons from 1997 to 2001, and on UPN from 2001 to 2003. This story was written by Joss Whedon with artwork by Georges Jeanty and inks by Dexter Vines. The cover art illustration for this issue was composed by Steve Morris. The story was colored by Michelle Madsen and lettered by Richard Starkings & Jimmy Betancourt of Comicraft. It was edited by Scott Allie and Sierra Hahn with Freddye Lins as assistant editor. This issue shipped with a September, 2011 cover date and carries a cover price of $2.99 per copy (US).
