Bud Collyer was an American radio and television voice actor. He was born Clayton Johnson Heermance, Jr. in New York City, New York on June 18th, 1908. Bud Collyer is best known for playing the voice of the DC Comics iconic superhero Superman in the Max Fleischer film shorts of the 1940s. Collyer reprised the dual roles of Superman and his civilian alter ego Clark Kent for the 1966-1967 animate series The New Adventures of Superman. These episodes were later repackaged into the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure.

Bud Collyer passed away in Greenwich, Connecticut from a circulatory ailment on September 8th, 1969 at the age of 61.
