The series is based on the original Buck Rogers comic strip created by Philip Francis Nolan. The episode was directed by Larry Stewart with a teleplay written by Robert W. Gilmer and William Mageean based on a story treatment by David Chomsky. It first aired on ABC on Thursday, March 12th, 1981.
