Biography[]

Bruno, surname unknown, was a large blonde-haired thug who worked in the employee of a mysterious corrupt businessman named Mister E., who was head of a criminal cartel known as The Conclave. He was a brutish enforcer, who worked closely with Mister E.'s number one enforcer, Maxwell Ferrett.

Mister E. had Ferrett and Bruno go out to a secret government laboratory where scientists Alec and Linda Holland were conducting experiments on a bio-restorative formula. They offered to buy the Hollands' formula outright to keep it off the market, but the scientists naturally refused. Ferrett ordered Bruno to "convince" Alec Holland of the error of his ways, but before he could take action, the criminals noticed the headlights belonging to the car of Defense Department Intelligence liaison Matt Cable driving up to the lab and were forced to back off.

They returned some time later to renegotiate with Holland, but expected him to be uncooperative. Under Ferrett's instruction, Bruno slugged Alec across the back of the head, knocking him out. They then had a bomb planted inside the lab and when it exploded, it doused Alec Holland with the burning remnants of his experimental formula. This ultimately led to Holland's seeming demise and resurrection as a hulking brute known as the Swamp Thing.

Believing Holland to be dead, Bruno and Ferrett returned to the laboratory to deal with his widow, Linda. Bruno disabled Matt Cable by bashing him across the head with a shovel and Ferrett shot Linda to death. The sound of the gunfire alerted the Swamp Thing who was lumbering through the swamps only a short distance away. He intercepted Bruno as he was leaving the scene in his car and smashed the front end, sending the thug's head crashing through the windshield. Bruno emerged from the car, but the Swamp Thing dealt him a fatal and crushing blow with one of his massive fists. [2]
