Batman, whose real name is Bruce Wayne, is a fictional billionaire playboy and costumed crime-fighter and the main character featured in the "The Dark Knight Trilogy", which is part of the greater Batman film series line of media based on the character of Batman as seen in comic books published by DC Comics. The character was played by actor Christian Bale and introduced in the 2005 movie Batman Begins. Bale reprised the role of Batman for the film's two sequels, The Dark Knight in 2008, and The Dark Knight Rises in 2012.
