Doctor Robert "Bruce" Banner is a fictional scientist as well as a super-strong anti-hero known as the Hulk featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series. The character is based on Marvel Comics character of Bruce Banner, who was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby in 1962. The Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Bruce Banner was originally played by actor Ed Norton and first appeared in the 2008 Incredible Hulk feature film. The character was brought back four years later for the 2012 movie The Avengers, only this time he was played by actor Mark Ruffalo. Ruffalo reprised the role of Bruce Banner in a special after-credit sequence at in the 2013 film Iron Man 3.
