Biography[]
Brock Williams was a business owner from Elk Grove, Michigan and the proprietor of Brock's Hardware. He had two children, Ash and Cheryl. In 1982, Brock's adult children took a weekend vacation to a cabin, which ultimately turned tragic when Cheryl was possessed by a Kandarian spirit and became a Deadite. Ash managed to survive and return home. Brock, as well as everybody else in Elk Grove, mistakenly believed that Ash had murdered Cheryl. This drove a wedge between the two that separated them for more than thirty years. [1]
Brock encountered a member of a Secret Society devoted towards fighting the forces of the Evil Dead. Though he didn't believe the man's rhetoric, he came to understand that his son was destined to play a larger role in things that were to come. Despite this, Brock's attitude towards Ash remained unchanged.
In 2016, Ash returned home. Brock and he continued to feud, despite the growing evidence of a true supernatural presence in Elk Grove. When a Deadite began to wreak havoc at Brock's favorite drinking establishment, the Elk Lounge Bar, he realized that he had to tell Ash the truth about the man he had encountered in his shop years earlier. Brock didn't get the chance to talk to Ash however, as at the last moment, he was run down and killed by Ash's possessed 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88. [2]
Ash proved victorious over the growing Deadite hordes, and convinced the town that he was innocent of the crime that had earned him the unflattering nickname "Ashy Slashy". During a town celebration, Brock's ghost appeared and gave Ash a nod of approval. [3]
An evil Dark One, Ruby Knowby, used her sorcery to resurrect Brock from the dead. He returned to Ash's home where he reunited with his son, and met his granddaughter, Brandy Barr, for the first time. The Deadite influence took over however, and Ash was forced to put Brock down. [4]
Brock's essence became a ghost once again. Now at least, he finally had the ability to talk to his son. He brought him to the basement of his old hardware store and told him of his past experience with the secret society crusader and how Ash's destiny tied into it. Satisfied that he had finally made peace with his son, Brock's spirit was finally able to go to the afterlife. [5]
