Biography[]
Brett Camber was an adolescent boy from Castle Rock, Maine. He was the son of mechanic Joe Camber and his wife Charity Camber. Brett was the owner of a St. Bernard dog named Cujo.
During the summer of 1980 - the hottest of such seasons on record, Charity made arrangements to visit her sister in New Hampshire and she brought Brett with her.
Brett was very fortunate in this regard. Unbeknownst to him, Cujo had been bitten by a bat and had rabies that turned him rabid. The insane dog killed his father while Brett was away.
