- The character of Boushh was created by series developer George Lucas and director Richard Marquand and writer Lawrence Kasdan.
- The story behind how Leia Organa was able to acquire Boushh's costume was revealed in the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire novel by Steve Perry. The novel bridges the gap between the events of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
- Leia Organa received a Kenner action figure where she is wearing Boushh's costume. The figure comes with a vibro-lance and a removable helmet showing Leia's face.
- Boushh's helmet can also be found in the LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga video game. Playable characters must don Boushh's helmet to access areas of Jabba's Palace that only bounty hunters are allowed to enter.
