Boris Petroff was a Russian film director, screenwriter and producer. He was born in Saratov, Russia in 1894. His first work in the science fiction genre was the 1951 Two Lost Worlds, which he produced and co-wrote. In 1957 he directed and produced the sci-fi/horror movie The Unearthly starring John Carradine and Allison Hayes. Boris was credited under the name Brooke L. Peters in this film.

Boris' other film credits include 1936's Hats Off, which marked his debut as both a director and a producer. He produced Arctic Fury in 1949. He directed and produced Red Snow in 1952. In 1958 he directed and produced Outcasts of the City and in 1961 he directed and produced the crime-thriller Anatomy of a Psycho, again using the Brooke L. Peters pseudonym. His final film was Shotgun Wedding, which he directed in 1963.

Boris Petroff passed away in 1972 at the age of 77.
