Jonathan Carnahan and the Book of Amun-Ra.
The Book of Amun-Ra, also known as the Golden Book of Amun-Ra, was an ancient bound mystical text that originated in dynastic Egypt. It was a companion peace to the Book of the Dead, and contained various occult rituals and spells, all of which were scribed in hieratic and included hieroglyphs. The Book of Amun-Ra allowed enabled those who could read it to enact the spells and curses written within. Jonathan Carnahan used the book to order mummy soldiers to kill Anck Su Namun. Later, Jonathan's sister Evelyn Carnahan dropped the book into a moat. It was recovered nine years later with the resurrection of Imhotep, but was destroyed again when throw into a pit of flesh-eating scarab beetles.
The book, or perhaps a copy of the book, resurfaced decades later. It was part of a collection maintained by Doctor Henry Jekyll of the Prodigium and kept in their relics room. During an attack, Doctor Jennifer Halsey used the book as a melee weapon to fight off an offender.
