Bob May was an American television actor born in New York City, New York on September 4th, 1939. Though few may know what he looks like, most are familiar with his work. Bob was the man, literally behind the costume, of the B9 robot featured in the 1960s Irwin Allen sci-fi series Lost in Space. Bob first donned the 6.5 prop costume in the first aired episode of the series, "The Reluctant Stowaway". He appeared in all 83 aired episodes of the series in total.
Bob May also had an uncredited appearance as Adolf Hitler in "The Kidnappers" episode of The Time Tunnel. Like Lost in Space, that series was also produced by Irwin Allen.
Bob May passed away from heart failure in Lancaster, California on January 18th, 2009 at the age of 69.
