Description[]
The Blue Whale is the most popular drinking establishment in Collinsport. Located near the Collinsport Harbor, it is frequented by workers and deck hands as well many of the youths growing up in town. The staff of the Blue Whale was rather minimal consisting of one bartender per shift and one waitress. On most nights, Bob Rooney could be seen cleaning out glasses at the Blue Whale. Sam Evans, who nursed a bit of an alcohol problem, was probably the Blue Whale's most reliable customer. Evenings were particularly popular in the mid 1960s and young people would enjoy that one particular song available on the Blue Whale's jukebox. Although the place seldom got rowdy, every now and again a fight would break out. Joe Haskell had to rough up a few locals who got a little too amorous with his girlfriend Carolyn Stoddard. [1] When Willie Loomis got a little too lippy with Burke Devlin, calling him an ex-con, Burke responded by cracking Willie across the snot-locker.

Notes[]
- Licensed merchandise relating to the Blue Whale has been produced including t-shirts, coasters and beer cozies.
- The 18th century counterpart to the Blue Whale was the Eagle. The Eagle shut its doors sometime in the late 19th century. It is possible that the Eagle was repurposed as the Blue Whale, but this is unlikely as that would make the original establishment nearly 200-years-old. In all likelihood they are two separate establishments.
- Sims was a bartender featured in the Dark Shadows comic book series by Gold Key Comics only.
