Blackhawk was a three-issue limited series published by DC Comics in 1988. The series re-invents the concept of the Blackhawk Squadron and its leader Janos Prohaska, bringing a more sophisticated and politicized tone to the classic Golden Age characters. The series introduces the character of Natalie Reed, as well as the death of a veteran Blackhawk. Written and illustrated by Howard Chaykin, the series sets the stage for the second ongoing Blackhawk comic book series.
