"Blackhawk Traps a Traitor!" is the second installment of the 15-chapter Blackhawk film serial. It was directed by Spencer Bennet and Fred F. Sears. It was written for the screen by George H. Plympton, Royal K. Cole and Sherman L. Lowe, based on the Blackhawk comic magazine drawn by Reed Crandall. The episode was released theatrically on Thursday, July 31st, 1952.

- Blackhawk, and all related characters and concepts were created by writer Will Eisner and artist Chuck Cuidera. They first appeared in Military Comics #1 in August, 1941, published by Quality Comics. They later spun-out into their first Blackhawk ongoing series, which ran from 1944 to 1956, spanning a total of 107 issues. DC Comics acquired the rights to continue publication of Blackhawk stories without interruption and began producing the title with Blackhawk #108 in January, 1957.
