Black Bolt, whose real name is Blackagar Boltagon, is a fictional alien hero featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby and first appeared in the pages of Fantastic Four, Volume 1 #45, published in December, 1965.
Overview[]
Black Bolt is a member of a genetically enhanced alien race known as the Inhumans. He is a member of the Royal Family and is the leader of the Inhumans. Like most Inhumans, Black Bolt was exposed to the Terrigen Mist, which gave him fantastic abilities. He can project waves of intense hypersonic sound from his mouth that are strong enough to level mountains. This ability is triggered whenever Black Bolt speaks. Even whispering can generate a sonic wave of disastrous proportions. Because of this liability, Black Bolt must always be careful to never speak, or God forbid, sneeze.
