"The Menace of Modred the Evil!" is the title to the first story featured in issue #1 of the Black Knight ongoing comic book series published by Atlas Comics. The story was written by Stan Lee with artwork by Joe Maneely. Lee and Maneely also craft a second Black Knight tale called "The Abduction of King Arthur!". A third story called "Origin of the Crusader" is illustrated by Joe Maneely. All stories were edited by Stan Lee. This issue shipped with a May, 1955 cover date and carries a cover price of .10 cents per copy.
