Billy Loomis is a fictional student, serial killer, and a character in the Scream franchise. He was introduced in the 1996 film Scream and was played by actor Skeet Ulrich. Ulrich later reprised his role in Scream (2022) and Scream VI appearing as a recurring hallucination to his daughter Samantha Carpenter trying to convince her to take on his murderous ways.
Biography[]
Billy is the boyfriend of Sidney Prescott and also serves as the main antagonist of the film, revealed to be one of two Ghostface killers (along with his friend Stu Macher) in the film's climax.
Prior to the events of the film, he was shown video footage of Maureen Prescott and Hank Loomis' affair by Maureen's son Roman Bridger and convinced to murder Maureen as she was the reason Billy's parent split up (while also satisfying his own revenge after Maureen shut him out of her life). Roman advised Billy to get an accomplice to throw under the bus if things went wrong and to frame Maureen's lover, Cotton Weary, for the murders.
Presumably during his relationship with Sidney and prior to/during the Woodsboro murders, slept with a student named Christina Carpenter and fathered a child named Samantha Carpenter unbeknownst to him. Samantha, after finding out later from her mother's diaries that Billy was her father, began being plagued by hallucinations of Billy attempt to urge her into continuing the murderous ways of her father and grandmother.
