Betty Kane is a fictional comic book superhero/sidekick and a recurring character featured in comic books published by DC Comics. She is associated with the Batman line of comic book titles and was introduced in Batman #139 in April, 1961. The character was part of the Silver Age era of DC's publishing, which has now been retroactively referred to as Earth-One. The character had since been re-vamped for Post-Crisis continuity where she was identified by the name Bette Kane. This version of the character became a member of Titans West, and later changed her code-name to Flamebird.
