Elizabeth "Bette" Kane is a fictional comic book superhero featured in titles published by DC Comics. She is associated with the Batman and Teen Titans line of comic book titles. This character is re-vamped version of Betty Kane, who was the original Golden Age Bat-Girl from the 1950s. This version of the character, who was introduced during DC's Post-Crisis era of continuity made her first appearance in Secret Origins, Volume 2 Annual #3 in 1989. She became more popularly known by the code-name Flamebird, as the Batgirl moniker had since been attributed to Barbara Gordon.
