Bert Rose is a fictional detective and a recurring character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is associated with the Daredevil line of comic titles and is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe. He first appeared in Daredevil, Volume 1 #1 in April, 1964.
Overview[]
Bert Rose was a detective for the New York City Police Department and held the rank of Lieutenant. Years ago, Lieutenant Rose discovered the body of Jack Murdock - a boxer who had been murdered by gangsters.
Bert Rose developed an intense dislike of costumed heroes, believing them all to be lawless vigilantes who thought they were somehow better than regular cops. He had several encounters with Daredevil, never realizing that this was actually the son of "Battlin'" Jack Murdock.
