Berkeley is a city in the US state of California located in the San Francisco Bay area in the Northern part of the state. It has a total land area of 17.696 square miles and a population of more than 112,000 people.
Science fiction author Ron Goulart was born in Berkeley on January 13th, 1933. Goulart is known for ghost writing the TekWar series of novels, though the credit is often attributed to franchise creator William Shatner.
Phil Tippett was born in Berkeley in 1951. Tippett is the founder of Tippett Studio and is a special/visual effects artist, stop motion animator and creature designer as well as a film producer and director.
