Description[]
Ben's Eats was a small restaurant located near the Florida Everglades a short distance from the town of Citrusville. Radio personality Richard Rory and his hippie girlfriend Ruth Hart stopped here after limping along in a van that was nearly out of gas. Richard ordered two burgers and two Cokes from the cigar-chomping proprietor and then talked to Ruth about their recent run-in with the Foolkiller - a religious psychopath who tried to kill Rory for playing "blasphemous" music on the radio.
A man entered the restaurant, whom Richard recognized as a good Samaritan who gave him two gallons worth of gas. When Rory spotted the car that the Samaritan was driving, he mistakenly believed that this was in fact the Foolkiller. Richard launched into him, but the real Foolkiller was actually outside and rammed his truck through the front of the restaurant. Richard was knocked unconcious from the impact and the Foolkiller abducted him. The proprietor exclaimed that "I ain't riskin' my life fer some hippie longhair!"
