Marvel Universe[]
Man-Thing[]
Almost nothing is known about this individual. There is a small restaurant in the Florida Everglades known as Ben's Eats. Ben may have been the owner of this establishment, or it may have been named after someone with this name. A middle-aged white man with a white undershirt and a cigar worked there, which could have possibly been Ben, but as this individual was never identified by name, it remains unclear. (Man-Thing 4)
Star Wars[]
Ben is the given name of a young man who would go on to call himself Kylo Ren. He was the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa. Given as how little information is presented about his parents' lives following the Battle of Endor, it is unclear which surname he was given, Solo or Organa. As a young man, Ben demonstrated strong abilities with the Force and was given to his uncle, Luke Skywalker, to be trained as a Jedi. Ben was corrupted by the Dark Side of the Force, under the manipulation of First Order Supreme Leader Snoke. He cast aside his boyhood name and adopted the alias Kylo Ren. Years later, Han Solo confronted his son on Starkiller Base. Refusing to address him as Kylo Ren, he shouted out the name "Ben" before goading him into removing his mask. In Solo's eyes, Ben was his true son, not Kylo Ren. In all likelihood, Ben was named for Obi-Wan Kenobi, who went by the alias of Ben Kenobi while living as an exile on Tatooine during the years leading up to the Galactic Civil War. This was the name that Han and Luke knew Kenobi best by. Ben/Kylo Ren appeared in the 2015 film Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens where he was played by Adam Driver.
Tales from the Cryptkeeper[]
Ben was a young blonde-haired surfer who lived near the shore. He was best friends with a Caribbean boy named Mike. Ben and Mike decided to "borrow" Ben's father's speedboat and took it joy-riding. Unfortunately, their inexperience caused the boat to sink. They were rescued when a ghostly pirate ship captained by a fiend named Red Beard happened upon them. Captain Red Beard tricked the boys into signing a document that believed would grant them a portion of the captain's treasure, but in truth, they ended up signing a contract that made them part of the crew. Fortunately for both of them, they were rescued by another ship and returned to shore. Mike and Ben were forced to take jobs as life guards in order to save money to reimburse Ben's father for the loss of his boat. (Tales from the Cryptkeeper: Ghost Ship)
The Walking Dead[]
Ben was a young man in his early twenties and was the son of Allen. He was part of a group also included Tyreese Williams and Sasha Williams. They sought sanctuary at the West Georgia Correctional Facility, but when Rick Grimes appeared to be too unstable for them to follow, they instead took up refuge with the Governor at Woodbury. When former Woodbury resident Merle Dixon tried to assassinate the Governor with a sniper rifle, Ben fell into his line of fire and was killed instead. Later, Merle became a walker and was found eating on Ben's corpse.
