Synopsis[]
The vampires known as Ivan and Daisy come to Bristol seeking to take advantage of the power vacuum left behind with the death of William Herrick. They target Herrick's killer, George Sands, as well as his vampire mate, Mitchell. While Ivan antagonizes Mitchell at length, Daisy engages in a game of cat and mouse with George, ultimately seducing him.
Back at the flat, Nina Pickering reveals to Annie Sawyer that George had scratched her, thus transferring the curse of the werewolf to her. It is the night of the full moon and Nina fears undergoing her first change. Annie agrees to accompany her to George's safe room. As she is a ghost, she has nothing to fear from being in Nina's presence.
Having gained some measure of control over her corporeal form, Annie decides to do the unthinkable - she gets a job! She is going to be tending bar at a neighborhood pub, and she has grand designs in mind over how to manage it. Mitchell and George have concerns over the idea of a disembodied spirit working in the food service industry.
That evening, Mitchell is working at St. Jude's Hospital, and meets a disgruntled nurse named Lucy. Lucy has only just begun working at the hospital, and complains about how somebody broke into her place and stole her goldfish. Mitchell decides to strike up a relationship with Lucy by buying her a new goldfish.
Meanwhile, an elderly man in a suit and a technician perform a most unorthodox experiment in laboratory. They find a werewolf named Galvin who wishes to rid himself of his curse. They place him in a pressure chamber believing that increased pressure might divert the effect of lunar influence during the full moon. The experiment doesn't work, and the ever-increasing pressure of the chamber kills him.
The following morning, George returns to the flat after having spent the night as a werewolf and also having sex with Daisy. Nina can smell Daisy's perfume on him and inquires about it. George becomes immediately defensive and accuses Nina of nursing an interest in Mitchell. In the heat of their argument, Nina reveals to George that she is now a werewolf.
