Beijing is the capital city of the People's Republic of China. It is also classically known as Peking. The time-travelling First Doctor journeyed to Beijing, China in the year 1289, along with his companions, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright, and his granddaughter, Susan Foreman, where they met Marco Polo. [1] Sometime in the alternate future era of the 1990s, the giant monster known as Mothra, while in larval form, attacked Beijing. [2]
